This blanket chest was made for my son Eric when his family moved into their present home in Waukesha, Wisconsin. It is made from a single piece of walnut (22 inches wide) from one of the three trees that came down in our property two years prior to my retirement. The grain of the wood is amazing, along with the dark rich walnut color. The design is by Tom Casper, a St. Olaf Alum and a master woodworker and an editor of American Woodworker.
